I agree with snoman; and have experienced Harbor Freight in the past. I happened to suggest a gift my kids could give me and they bought CHICAGO power tools. If I could; I’d toss them into Lake Michigan.

No offense to you; or anyone; but consider that so many BRAND tools are likely manufactured in part or total, by the same Mfg. and Harbor happens to import. No offense to the Chinese either; but I can’t take a bargain drill to Bejing for repair.

Again; with no offense; I’m not at all a fan of Packages. Even with the big Boys. For one thing I might not need a Yellow Radio on a job site; and I’ll certainly never be sawing in the dark using the KIT flashlight to see what I’m doing.

In some part this also depends on your intended use. Obviously if a Pittsburgh drill; even if rated at 18 volts in the kit, happens to come with only 1 charger, and MAYBE 2 batteries; that charger make take an overnight to recharge a battery. Hardly a situation ideal for someone who runs a battery down every 20 minutes on a job.

Go with what happens to be well rated certainly, and not always the cheapest price; but consider that Dewalt (parent to the comapny that makes "Firestorm" (B&D)/ Milwaukee/ Porter/ Rigid/ etc. are very likely going to have extensive online sites; as well as places local to take a tool that may malfunction.

Warantees are generally the same; but after market is as valid as a bargain price.
